Awareness, Acceptance and Change
To other people, you look like you have it all together. Perhaps you have a lovely family, a great job and you are seen as a highly motivated person. What people don't see is that underneath all of your achievements is this daily struggle of anxiety. Some days are better than others, but on the bad days it can be so overwhelming. You may feel stressed to the max and struggle to find the right words to say. You feel like everyone is judging you. Maybe you have gotten to the point to where you have had a full blown panic attack. Perhaps this is increasing arguments with your significant other, you find yourself snippy with your children or you aren't hanging out with your friends like you used to. It can even affect your job in that you can't focus on what you are supposed to do, because the anxiety is so intense. You have a desire to be a loving spouse, a patient parent and a hard worker, but your actions are showing otherwise. Well-meaning friends and family tell you to "take a deep breath" or "calm down," but it doesn't seem to be helping and sometimes makes you feel worse and misunderstood. It can be a vicious cycle where you feel that anxiety coming on and try to talk yourself out of it, but end up feeling even worse. So how do you get out of this vicious cycle?

FAQs
Q: Can I use my insurance for therapy?
A: Reflections Counseling Services accepts HealthChoice insurance. Private pay clients will receive a discounted rate.
Q: Would I be able to use my out-of-network benefits to get reimbursed if I do not have Healthcoice?
A: It's possible. If you are interested in going through your insurance you would need to contact your insurance provider to inquire about your out-of-network benefits. If you do have out-of-network benefits then I will provide you with a superbill for you to file with your insurance and you would be reimbursed by your insurance company. Reflections Counseling Services cannot guarantee that your insurance will reimburse you. Your reimbursement will be based on your benefits.
Q: How will I pay for services?
A: My policy is to maintain a card on file, which will be charged after your session. When your first intake session is booked, you will give your card information. This information is kept secured.
Q: What can I expect from the free consultation?
A: You may receive a free 20 minute phone call consultation. Please provide a good phone number when this is scheduled and allow yourself to be undisturbed during the consult. The phone call will be coming from 580-940-5800 or 580-334-0143. During this 20 minute consultation, you will be asked some basic questions and you will have the opportunity to ask questions. If it appears that I can be of help to you, then we will schedule your assessment.
Your assessment will last 60 minutes. During this appointment, I will ask you some questions to get a better understanding of who you are, what you are going through and what your goals are for therapy. Your following appointments will be regular 45-55 minute therapy sessions once per week.
Q: What kind of therapy do you offer?
A: I offer several evidence-based therapy approaches designed to help you feel calmer, more grounded, and more in control of your life. Each method works in a slightly different way, but all of them help you move from overwhelm and reactivity into clarity and strength.
Here’s how I help:
-EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing)
When anxiety, trauma, or old emotional wounds get “stuck,” EMDR helps your brain finally finish the processing it was never able to complete.
Clients often tell me EMDR feels like a weight lifting off their chest.
It helps with:
• Trauma
• Anxiety
• Overthinking
• Past memories that still bother you
• Emotional triggers you can’t seem to shake
If you’ve tried talk therapy before but still feel “stuck,” EMDR may be the thing your nervous system has been waiting for.
-CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
CBT helps you understand the patterns of your thoughts—and then retrain them so anxiety no longer runs the show.
Together, we:
• Identify the thoughts creating your stress
• Understand where they came from
• Rewire them into something calmer and more truthful
Most people feel relief quickly because CBT gives you tools you can use daily.
It’s practical, empowering, and helps you build real confidence in your ability to calm your own mind.
-Hypnotherapy
This is a deeply relaxing, focused state where your mind becomes open to shifting old beliefs and releasing stored anxiety.
Hypnotherapy helps with:
• Anxiety
• Confidence
• Trauma
• Stress
• Self-sabotaging patterns
• Overthinking
Clients describe this as “getting out of my own way” and feeling a renewed sense of calm and clarity.
-Psychoeducation for Highly Sensitive & Neurodivergent People
If you’re an adult or a child who feels “too sensitive,” overwhelmed, or misunderstood, this part of therapy helps you understand your brain on a deeper level.
We explore:
• Hindbrain vs. cortex anxiety
• The Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) trait
• ADHD/Autistic traits
• Nervous system overwhelm
• Why your brain reacts the way it does
Learning how your brain works brings relief, because it stops feeling like something is “wrong” with you. And guess what? There’s nothing wrong with you! You’re an incredible person with real strengths. You’ve just been carrying more than your nervous system was ever meant to carry alone.
~A Therapy Experience That Finally Makes Sense~
Most of my clients are motivated, high-achieving people who are successful in many areas of life but still struggle with anxiety, overwhelm, or patterns they can’t break on their own.
You don’t have to keep doing it alone.
My goal is to give you:
✔ a safe space to breathe
✔ tools that actually work
✔ deeper healing when you’re ready for it
✔ a calm, steady guide who understands overloaded and overstimulated brains
Whether you’re an adult or a child ages 8 and older, we will work together to help you feel more grounded, more confident, and more you.
